Assignments Since beginning 2000, I've successfully completed turnaround assignments, in Europe and the US, as CEO and CFO of a number of NYSE Euronext-listed and private equity-owned companies in a wide range of industry sectors, from manufacturing to retail to service industries: pharmaceutical, paper, specialty chemicals, consumer packaged goods, retail, business travel management, not-for-profit healthcare and education in Africa and Asia, public-private partnership,

telecom middleware, eCommerce, MMORPG online gaming,

a first-time private equity fund, and a global executive search firm

What I learned I learned that generally, customers want the most simple product. As far as technology products are concerned, the challenge is to continuously innovate with  a product that is simple and absolutely secure to use and yet difficult to replicate by your competitors. Apple's iPhone and Android smartphones are prime examples of such products

and country subsidiaries of US and European Fortune 500 companies

(WR Grace, Georgia-Pacific, USG, Bouygues, Avnet Premier Farnell)

What I learned I learned that generally, employees, because they

deal with customers daily, know more than you but their opinions can

differ. Building consensus is therefore the most important contribution

one can make
